Ja’Marr Chase Hit With Suspension

By William Armstead

NEW YORK Nov. 18, 2025 — Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase has been suspended one game without pay for unsportsmanlike conduct during Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

During the fourth quarter, Chase spat on Pittsburgh cornerback Jalen Ramsey, even after claiming he didn’t. This act violates Rule 12, Section 3, Article 1, which states “any act which is contrary to the generally understood principles of sportsmanship.”

Chase will be allowed to return to the Bengals’ active roster on Monday, Nov. 24, after the team’s Nov. 23 game against the New England Patriots.

Chase may appeal the suspension, per the Under the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Derrick Brooks, Ramon Foster, or Jordy Nelson will be the individuals to hear and decide on the appeal. The hearing officers are jointly appointed and paid by the NFL and NFLPA to decide appeals of on-field player behavior.
