Georgia Tech and Miami Both Fall to Unranked Teams in Week 10

By William Armstead

The No. 8 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets were defeated by the NC State Wolfpack on Saturday night, November 1, 2025, by a score of 48-36. The Yellow Jackets have since fallen down to No. 16 in the rankings. On the same day, the 10th-ranked Miami fell to SMU 26-20 and has dropped to No. 18.

As for Georgia Tech, they just could not capitalize on all of their opportunities near the endzone. Quarterback Haynes King threw for 408 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 103 yards and two more touchdowns. However, they had to settle for a field goal on three possessions and also missed one. Receiver Jordan Allen broke 100 yards receiving on the night. NC State was led by running back Jayden Scott, who recorded 196 yards on the ground and a touchdown. One of those runs was a breakaway for a gain of 69. Quarterback CJ Bailey added on with 340 yards passing and two touchdowns. The Wolfpack defense had four different players with 10+ tackles.

Miami quarterback Carson Beck once again threw an interception with the game on the line, the first time against Louisville two weeks ago. Beck’s decision-making has cost the Hurricanes two games, now making it an uphill climb to reach the College Football Playoff. Beck threw for two touchdowns along with two interceptions, and receiver Joshisa Trader caught a touchdown. SMU QB Kevin Jennings threw for a stellar 394 yards and a touchdown with no turnovers. SMU wideout Jordan Hudson recorded 136 yards receiving.
