CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) announced on Monday that Florida State University has been fined $50,000 for a violation of the league’s event security policy following its football game against the University of Alabama on August 30, 2025.

The violation occurred when fans entered the field of play after the conclusion of the game. The ACC’s event security policy is designed to ensure the safety of student-athletes, coaches, officials, and fans.

As this is a first offense, the fine is set at $50,000 in accordance with ACC policy. All fines collected under the policy are directed to the Weaver-James-Corrigan-Swofford Postgraduate Scholarship Fund, which supports ACC student-athletes pursuing graduate education.

The updated event security policy, which applies to football, men’s basketball, and women’s basketball for the 2025–26 academic year, was announced on July 22, 2025, during ACC Football Kickoff.
