JACKSON, MS- The Jackson State Tigers defeated the Hampton Pirates by a score of 28-14 in their game on August 30th, 2025. The Tigers have now won eleven games in a row, which is the longest active win streak in Division I.
Jackson State running back Ahmad Miller was dominant on the ground with 172 rushing yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. Miller had one touchdown run that went 38 yards, along with a 76-yard touchdown run. Donerio Davenport and Emari Matthews also reached the pylon on the ground. Quarterback JaCobian Morgan went 15-30 with 143 yards passing. On defense for the Tigers, defensive back Khamauri Rogers caught an interception.
As for Hampton, running back Isaiah Freeman bursted away for a 63-yard run. He had a total of 94 yards on 13 carries. Marshawn Ferguson had a receiving touchdown, and Ja’Quan Snipes contributed a rushing touchdown. The Pirates had trouble holding onto the ball, fumbling the ball a total of four times.
Jackson State will face in-state opponent Southern Miss next week on ESPN+, looking to extend their win streak to twelve straight games. Hampton will host Elizabeth City State.
