Philadelphia Phillies Win Huge Series Over the Chicago Cubs

By Cameron Williams-

The Phillies snapped their series losing streak with a huge series win over the Chicago Cubs earlier this week. With a 7-2 victory over the Cubs on Wednesday (June 11), the Phillies stole the series from the Cubs.

The Phillies scored seven runs on 13 hits and one error. Their offense was highlighted by the big and powerful Kyle Schwarber who went 2-4 with a homer and Nick Castellanos who went 3-4 with a homer as well.

Zack Wheeler took the mound for the Phillies Wednesday, where he was locked in and didn’t miss a beat. The CY Young candidate dominated yet again versus one of the best teams in the league, he shoved for 7 innings only surrendering 2 runs and struck out 7 Cubs batters.

This was a huge series win as they now look to the Toronto Blue Jays back at home, the Phillies will look to capture their 40th win tonight with Ranger Suarez on the mound tonight (June 13) and Zack Wheeler back on the hill Saturday (June 14).
