The Mets, who continue to show they are a World Series contender, extend their winning streak to 3 straight games, defeating the Tampa Bay Rays in the Grapefruit League with a score of 10-1.
Mets pitcher Blade Tidwell proves he can be in the starting pitching rotation. He struck out five batters, no walks, no hits, and no runs. He also threw a pair of scoreless innings, also having the best inning of his young career. It’s a positive sign seeing the young arm improve every outing as he struggled with Syracuse last year in the Triple-A.
The Mets offense continues to be a team to be concerned about. With most starters sitting out, Mets OF Jose Siri had a monster shot of his own in the third inning, giving the Mets the early 3-0 lead against his former team. The Mets continue their run as they had a seven-hit fifth inning to give them the 10-0 lead. Tampa Bay’s Kameron Misner was the only one to get the team on the board with a homer.
The team looks to build on the win with another matchup against the Boston Red Sox at JetBlue Park. The first pitch is set for 1:05PM ETD.
