Following an impressive road victory against Nebraska on Thursday, the Maryland Terrapins returned to their home court at the XFINITY Center in College Park, Maryland, for a highly anticipated matchup against Iowa on Sunday. The Terrapins delivered a spectacular performance, overpowering the Hawkeyes with a resounding 101-75 win. This victory not only showcased Maryland’s offensive prowess but also set a new program record for the most points scored in a single Big Ten conference game.

Throughout the game, Maryland demonstrated their dominance in several key areas. They racked up an impressive 44 points in the paint, capitalizing on their size and athleticism. Their fast-paced style of play translated into 17 points on fast breaks, showcasing their ability to transition quickly from defense to offense. Additionally, they scored 14 points off turnovers, taking full advantage of Iowa’s mistakes.

Individually, Derik Queen and Julian Reese continued to shine, each recording double-doubles for the second consecutive game. Queen achieved his ninth career double-double, contributing 18 points along with 13 rebounds, while Reese notched his 34th career double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds, placing him fifth on the program’s all-time list for double-doubles.

He accomplished this feat with a confident three-pointer at the 3:00 mark in the second half. Miguel finished the night with 17 points, shooting an efficient 5-of-9 from beyond the arc. This performance marked his 10th game this season in which he made three or more three-pointers, as he started strong by sinking his first three attempts.
