The NBA has unveiled an exciting lineup of musical performances that will pay homage to the Bay Area’s vibrant musical heritage as part of NBA All-Star 2025.
Leading the festivities will be the illustrious maestro, DJ Cassidy, who will host a special Bay Area edition of his celebrated “Pass The Mic Live!” This exclusive performance will feature an impressive roster of talent, including award-winning artist and entrepreneur E-40, multi-platinum hip-hop icons Too $hort, Saweetie, and the renowned multi-platinum vocal group En Vogue. This electrifying lineup will take the stage during the 2025 NBA All-Star Game, scheduled for Sunday, February 16, at 8 p.m. ET, broadcast live on TNT, TruTV, and MAX. The event will be held at the Chase Center in San Francisco, the home court of the Golden State Warriors, coinciding with the NBA’s innovative new All-Star Game format.
Before the tip-off, Oakland, California native and three-time GRAMMY® Award-winning artist Raphael Saadiq will grace the crowd with a special performance designed to welcome fans to the Bay Area, while also introducing the star athletes competing in the 2025 NBA All-Star Game. In the lead-up to this monumental event, Saadiq collaborated with fellow Oakland native and nine-time NBA All-Star, Damian Lillard of the Milwaukee Bucks, to release a promotional short film. This inspiring film explores how the Bay Area has profoundly influenced their lives and careers and is currently streaming across various platforms, showcasing their shared history and artistic journey.
On Saturday, February 15, Academy Award® winner and five-time Grammy Award-winning artist H.E.R., hailing from Vallejo, California, will welcome fans to the iconic State Farm® All-Star Saturday Night. She will be joined by National Basketball Players Association Executive Director and four-time NBA champion Andre Iguodala of the Golden State Warriors. The evening will also feature Def Jam Recording artist LiAngelo “GELO” Ball, who will make his live televised debut performing his chart-topping single “Tweaker.” GELO is the brother of Lonzo and LaMelo Ball, both of whom are NBA guards. This track achieved remarkable success, debuting at No. 29 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earning the distinction of being the #1 Rap song of 2025, while also dominating the TikTok Top 50 Viral Chart and the Apple Music Hip-Hop Chart. Coverage for this exciting event will begin at 8 p.m. ET on TNT, truTV, and MAX.
Bay Area rapper LaRussell will also take the stage to perform an original song that introduces the talented 2025 Castrol® Rising Stars during their showcase, set for Friday, February 14, at 9 p.m. ET on TNT, truTV, and MAX.
As previously announced, the weekend will be infused with performances by multi-platinum singer-songwriter Noah Kahan, GRAMMY Award-winning duo The Chainsmokers, acclaimed DJ Zedd, and genre-blending artist 2 Chainz, alongside multi-platinum performer Flo Rida. Additionally, the U.S. national anthem for the NBA All-Star Game will feature a heartfelt tribute to the Los Angeles area in the aftermath of the devastating wildfires. This poignant performance will be led by Los Angeles firefighter and paramedic Dennis R. Rodriguez, accompanied by a ceremonial presentation of the colors by fellow firefighters from the Los Angeles Fire Department. GRAMMY Award-winning singer Alessia Cara will also lend her voice to perform the Canadian national anthem.
On Saturday, during the fourth annual NBA HBCU Classic presented by AT&T, five-time GRAMMY Award-winning musician and Morehouse alumnus PJ Morton will perform the U.S. national anthem before Morehouse College faces off against Tuskegee University, with the game tipping off at 5 p.m. ET on ESPN+, NBA TV, and TruTV. Morton will also join forces with Oakland native and singer-songwriter Goapele to deliver a moving rendition of the Black national anthem, “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” further enriching the cultural significance of the weekend’s festivities.
