The NBA All-Star 2025, in partnership with the Golden State Warriors, is set to kick off an exciting five-day series of social impact initiatives and youth basketball events in the vibrant San Francisco Bay Area. This initiative places a strong emphasis on service, wellness, inclusion, and grassroots development, which aims to reach over 2,000 boys and girls.
The programming features a variety of Jr. NBA and Jr. WNBA basketball clinics designed to foster youth participation and provide access to high-quality coaching, thereby nurturing the next generation of basketball talent. Additionally, the NBA will reinforce its ongoing commitment to historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs), enhancing opportunities for students and communities.
The highlight of the event will culminate in the All-Star Game scheduled for February 16 at 8 p.m. ET, broadcast live on TNT, with the NBA donating more than $2 million to support the Bay Area and HBCU communities.
17th NBA Cares All-Star Day of Service
On Friday, February 14, the NBA, with the NBPA and the Golden State Warriors, will mobilize an impressive group of 500 volunteers, including current and former NBA and WNBA players, league employees, and strategic partners. These volunteers will take part in refurbishing two local elementary schools: Bret Harte Elementary School in San Francisco and East Oakland Pride Elementary School in Oakland.
At Bret Harte, the renovation will include a state-of-the-art gymnasium complete with new basketball hoops, contemporary equipment, upgraded lighting, and a high-quality flooring system.
Meanwhile, in Oakland, with the Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation and KABOOM!, will enhance the school’s yard and the library will receive significant upgrades as part of the NBA Cares State Farm Assist Tracker program.
Additionally, NBA volunteers will engage in a meaningful service project at the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank, where they will pack meals for approximately 50,000 households served weekly.
NBA Total Health All-Star Walk presented by Evernorth Health Services
To promote holistic health, the NBA is launching its new initiative, NBA Total Health, with the inaugural Total Health All-Star Walk, sponsored by Evernorth Health Services. This event, hosted in partnership with San Francisco Recreation and Parks, GirlTREK, and the Golden State Warriors, will invite 1,000 local community members, families, and All-Star guests to participate. The walk aims to celebrate physical, mental, and community health, showcasing local health and wellness resources to promote healthy lifestyles across all age groups.
Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Day presented by NIKE
On the same day, Friday, February 14, the Jr. NBA and Jr. WNBA will collaborate with NIKE to organize the 8th Annual Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Day. This exciting event will see local elementary and middle school students from San Francisco and Oakland Unified School Districts come together for a series of basketball clinics. They will be joined by both current and former NBA and WNBA players, who will assist with teaching essential basketball fundamentals and imparting the core values of teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship.
Jr. WNBA Clinic
The Jr. WNBA initiative, dedicated to empowering girls of all skill levels, will host a specialized clinic focusing on basketball fundamentals. Participants will interact with WNBA players, including members of the Golden State Valkyries, engaging in a panel discussion aimed at helping girls boost their confidence, navigate challenges, and understand the importance of physical and mental wellness.
NBA HBCU Classic presented by AT&T
Marking a significant highlight of the All-Star events, the fourth NBA HBCU Classic presented by AT&T will showcase a thrilling matchup between Morehouse College and Tuskegee University, both of which compete in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC). Scheduled for Saturday, February 15, at 2 p.m. PT in Oakland Arena, the game will be broadcast on ESPN+, NBA TV, and TruTV. Fans can secure their tickets to the highly anticipated matchup, with additional events supporting the HBCU community to be announced soon. To amplify their support, the NBA and AT&T will contribute $100,000 each to Morehouse College and Tuskegee University.
NBA Foundation All-Star Pitch Competition
On Thursday, February 13, the NBA Foundation, in collaboration with the Golden State Warriors, the Kapor Center, and Amplitude, will host the finals of the All-Star Pitch Competition. This prestigious event will feature seven early-stage start-ups pitching their innovative business ideas to a panel of distinguished judges, including Chase Koch, Chiney Ogwumike, Spenser Skates, Rebecca Quick, and Angela Yee. A total of $150,000 in cash prizes will be awarded to the top three finalists, following the semifinals held in San Francisco in December 2024, where the finalists secured their spots to compete during NBA All-Star 2025.
NBA All-Star Game Charitable Components
In a notable charitable initiative during the NBA All-Star Game, the State Farm® Assist Tracker Program will contribute $1,900 for each assist made during the game. The total donation will be split between the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Oakland. Last year’s All-Star Game saw 106 assists, resulting in a remarkable donation of $201,400. Furthermore, the NBA will honor firefighters from San Francisco, Oakland, and Alameda County, who previously assisted with wildfire recovery efforts, providing them with recognition and support during this special event.
Make-A-Wish Experiences
The NBA is proud to continue its longstanding partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, committing to help grant the wishes of seven deserving children during the NBA All-Star Weekend in 2025. This collaboration exemplifies the league’s dedication to making a meaningful impact in the lives of youth facing critical health challenges.

This vibrant All-Star Vendor Showcase will spotlight a diverse array of local small businesses and prospective vendors, providing them with a platform to reach basketball fans while promoting economic empowerment in the community.
Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA and Junior Warriors Coaches Clinic:
Local youth basketball coaches will have the invaluable opportunity to attend a coaches’ clinic led by a renowned NBA All-Star Head Coach. This session will include in-depth discussions on coaching philosophies, strategic approaches to the game, and hands-on activities focused on skill development on the court.
Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Wheelchair Basketball Clinic:
In collaboration with the Challenged Athletes Foundation, this clinic will introduce individuals with physical disabilities to the exciting sport of wheelchair basketball, emphasizing inclusivity and the joy of sports.
Junior Warriors x Special Olympics All-Star Showcase:
This unique event will feature teams from the Junior Warriors program and Special Olympics Northern California competing in a series of exciting and competitive games at the dedicated court space for the Jr. NBA and Jr. WNBA.
Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Skills Challenge:
Young athletes will have the chance to showcase their talents in skills competitions that target fundamental basketball skills. The challenge will be divided into two divisions—boys and girls—and will feature two age brackets to ensure fair competition.
Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA STEM Clinic:
Targeting participants aged 6-14, this innovative clinic will explore the intersection of sports and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). Kids will engage in hands-on activities focused on how scientific concepts like data visualization and the scientific method can enhance their understanding of both basketball and the wider world.
NIKE N7 x Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Clinic:
In partnership with NIKE N7, this basketball clinic will be specifically designed for Indigenous youth from the Intertribal Friendship House Bay Area, promoting physical activity and cultural awareness within the Indigenous community.
HBCU Programming:
A series of celebrations and career development opportunities will be featured, aligning with the NBA HBCU Classic presented by AT&T. These initiatives aim to highlight the contributions and legacy of Historically Black Colleges and Universities in basketball and beyond.
National Basketball Social Justice Coalition:
On January 17, in anticipation of NBA All-Star 2025, the Golden State Warriors joined forces with the National Basketball Social Justice Coalition (NBSJC) to host “The Rebound: Second Chances & The Power of Basketball” at Chase Center in San Francisco. This powerful event will include “on-court conversations” focusing on the NBA and Warriors’ commitment to advocating for second chances for incarcerated and justice-impacted individuals. Key topics will highlight significant collaboration with initiatives such as the Twinning Project at California State Prison Solano and the annual basketball event at San Quentin Rehabilitation Center, alongside discussions surrounding the impactful new book, *The Power of Basketball: NBA Players, Coaches, and Team Governors on the Fight to Make a Better America*, a collaborative effort of the NBSJC and the Vera Institute of Justice.
Sustainability Initiatives:
Reflecting the league’s commitment to environmental sustainability through NBA Green, both the NBA and the Golden State Warriors will strive to minimize ecological impacts related to energy, water, waste, and transportation during the All-Star events. The Chase Center boasts LEED Gold certification for its building design and construction. It was the first NBA arena in California to receive Green Business Certification in April 2021. The arena’s comprehensive sustainability practices, which include water conservation, graywater recovery, and food recovery, will contribute to a significant environmental impact during the NBA All-Star.
– Events at the Chase Center, Moscone Center, and Oakland Arena will be powered by 100% renewable energy, aiming to achieve at least an 80% waste diversion rate. Additionally, NBA Green will launch its partnership with Rewiring America through a sustainability fan activation at NBA Crossover. This activation will feature an electric bike competition, educating fans on how transitioning to electric solutions fosters healthier, more affordable homes and businesses while benefiting the planet.
Stand Together Collaboration:
The NBA will collaborate with Stand Together, a philanthropic community engaged in service initiatives nationwide. Stand Together will mobilize 20 volunteers to participate in the NBA Cares All-Star Day of Service, amplifying awareness around the NBA HBCU Classic presented by AT&T and enhancing community engagement throughout the region.
