In a highly anticipated Christmas Day clash featuring two teams vying for playoff positions in 2024, the Baltimore Ravens triumphed over the Houston Texans with a score of 31-2 at NRG Stadium in Houston. This victory marked the Ravens’ third consecutive win, solidifying their momentum as they push toward the postseason.

Historically, Baltimore has dominated this matchup, boasting an impressive all-time record of 13-2 against the Texans, which includes a six-game winning streak in their encounters. The Ravens had previously bested the Texans last season in a divisional playoff game, which concluded with a dominating 34-10 scoreline in Baltimore.

Lamar Jackson showcased his versatility and playmaking ability, completing 10 out of 15 pass attempts for 168 yards and two touchdown passes. His performance wasn’t limited to the air; he also contributed significantly on the ground, rushing for 87 yards and scoring a touchdown on four carries. Jackson’s highlight of the game came in the third quarter when he dazzled fans with a thrilling 48-yard rushing touchdown, extending the Ravens’ lead to 24-2. This remarkable run stands as the third longest of his career and is the fourth occasion where he has recorded a rushing touchdown of 45 or more yards.

Derrick Henry also had an impressive outing, carrying the ball 27 times for a total of 147 yards and crossing the goal line once. His performance averaged 5.4 yards per carry, showcasing his ability to consistently provide yardage and keep the Ravens’ defense on their toes. In the receiving department, tight end Mark Andrews emerged as a key target, making two receptions for a team-leading 68 yards, including a crucial touchdown. Another standout moment was when Isaiah Likely caught a 9-yard touchdown pass, boosting the Ravens’ lead to 17-2 late in the second quarter. This touchdown came just two plays after a thrilling 67-yard connection between Jackson and Andrews that placed Baltimore deep into red zone territory.

On the defensive front, safety Kyle Hamilton made significant contributions as well. He recorded two tackles and achieved his first interception of the season, marking the fifth of his career. This impressive interception, where he made a full-extension grab, gave Baltimore possession at their own 39-yard line, stifling any potential momentum from the Texans.

As the Ravens prepare for their final regular-season game, they find themselves at the pinnacle of the AFC North standings, holding the reins of their divisional destiny firmly in their hands. With their combination of offensive skill and defensive strength, they are poised to make a deep playoff run.
