The Miami Heat were north of the border, taking on the Toronto Raptors at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on Sunday. They were looking to avoid falling back to .500 as they came into this game with a 9-8 record.
The game started out evenly matched before the Raptors pulled away, eventually taking a 12-point lead. They would lead by 10 at the end of the first quarter.
Miami came storming back and took the lead at 43-42 with 8:09 left in the first half following a three-pointer from Terry Rozier. The two teams would go back and forth for the next few minutes, and the Heat would build a six-point lead. Toronto would come back and led 65-60 at halftime.
After a back-and-forth third, the Raptors would pull away in the third and led 98-87 headed into the fourth. They would build a lead as big as 12 with 4:31 left and despite a late Miami run, the Heat fell 119-116.
Their next game will be Monday night as they will be back on the road to face the Boston Celtics. Tip-off from TD Garden is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.
