On Thanksgiving Eve, the Atlanta Hawks hit the road to Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio, for a meeting with the Cleveland Cavaliers seeking redemption after enduring a tough three-game losing streak. In a thrilling encounter, they emerged victorious with a score of 135-124 on Wednesday night.
De’Andre Hunter showcased his scoring prowess, leading the Hawks with an impressive 26 points. In addition to his contributions on offense, he also recorded five defensive rebounds and made a single assist, demonstrating his all-around game.
Jalen Johnson made his mark on the court as well, contributing 22 points along with two offensive rebounds and seven defensive rebounds. His seven assists, a steal, and a block emphasized his versatility and impact on both ends of the floor.
Trae Young, a standout player for the Hawks, added 20 points to the tally and was particularly impressive on the boards with four offensive rebounds. His playmaking skills shone through as he dished out a remarkable 22 assists. Over the course of his last five games, Young has accumulated 82 points, 81 assists, and 11 steals, making him one of only five players since the 1972-73 season to achieve over 80 points, 80 assists, and 10 steals in a five-game stretch.
Risacher and Bogdanovic were vital, as they combined to add 34 points to the team’s score.
The Hawks displayed exceptional teamwork and offensive efficiency, racking up 28 fast break points, 17 second-chance points, and an impressive 50 points in the paint, highlighting their dominance around the basket.
