NFL Week 10 East Coast Review

Giants vs. Panthers: The New York Giants and the Carolina Panthers played the 2nd Annual NFL Munich game at Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany. The Giants tied the game up at 17 with a 42 yard field goal by Graham Gano in the final seconds of regulation. Tyrone Tracy Jr. fumbled and then the Panthers capitalized it with a 36-yard field goal by Eddy Pinero to win it in overtime 20-17 over the Giants. 

Bears vs. Patriots: It was one of the top rookie quarterback battles of the year, between Caleb Williams and Drake Maye at Soldier Field in Chicago. The Patriots defense dominated Williams the entire game, as they sacked him a season-high nine times. Maye threw one touchdown to Ja’Lynn Polk in the second quarter, and set up Joey Slye for four field goals, as the Pats beat the Bears 19-3. 

Bills vs. Colts: At Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Bills defensive back Taron Johnson maneuvered around the Colts offense to start the scoring for the Bills. The game was tied at 10 in the second quarter after Joe Flacco threw a touchdown pass to Tyler Goodson, and Matt Gay picked a chip-shot field goal to take the lead for the Colts, the Bills scored 20 unanswered points, which included touchdown runs by Josh Allen and James Cook. The Bills extend their winning streak to five with their first victory in Indianapolis since 1998 with a 30-20 win over the Colts. Flacco had four turnovers in his second start since replacing the benched Anthony Richardson (three INTs and a fumble). 

Jets vs. Cardinals: The Arizona Cardinals shellacked the New York Jets, as they scored touchdowns on four out of the first five drives, including Kyler Murray having a passing and rushing touchdown in that span. Murray weaved through defenders for another rushing touchdown, and Spencer Shrader scored the only points for the Jets in his Jets debut after being elevated from the practice squad, after an injury to Greg Zuerlein, as the Jets lost 31-6 to the Cardinals in Phoenix. 

Steelers vs. Commanders: Russell Wilson threw for three touchdowns, including the game winning touchdown to Mike Williams, his first touchdown receptions for Pittsburgh with 2:22 left in the game, and then a crucial spotting review when Commanders tight end Zach Ertz, that was short of the first down on 4th down, which gave the Steelers the ball back to close out the game, as they won 28-27 over the Commanders. 

Vikings vs. Jaguars: In Mac Jones’s first start for the Jags replacing Trevor Lawrence who was out with an injury to his non-throwing shoulder, he had a quarterback sneak touchdowns, before Vikings kicker John Parker Romo kicked three straight field goals in his NFL debut, as the Vikings won without scoring a touchdown, 12-7. 

Falcons vs. Saints: Saints interim head coach Darren Rizzi made his head coaching debut after the Saints fired Dennis Allen after a three-game skid. Marquez Valdes-Scantling had a two touchdown receptions in the first half in his second game as a Saint after signing with the team on October 22, after being released by the Bills. Tyrann Mathieu stopped Kirk Cousins and the Atlanta Falcons in the final drive with an interception on the 38 yard line which sealed the first victory for new coach Rizzi, as the Saints won 20-17 over the Falcons. 

49ers vs. Buccaneers: Ricky Pearsall scored his first career touchdown on a 46-yard pass from Brock Purdy for the San Francisco 49ers, Pearsall played in his third career game after getting off injured reserve after getting shot in the chest after a robbery in San Francisco on September 2. After Chase McLaughlin tied it up with 42 seconds left, Jake Moody kicked the game winning field goal for the 49ers as time expired, to win the game 23-20. 

Eagles vs. Cowboys: In Dallas, Jalen Hurts had another four touchdown performance (two rushing & passing), against the Dallas Cowboys, who were without Dak Prescott, The Eagles delivered a blow to the Cowboys, 34-6. 

Dolphins vs. Rams: The Miami Dolphins held on against the Los Angeles Rams 23-15 on Monday Night Football. The Dolphins defense did not allow a touchdown, as Rams rookie kicker Joshua Karty made five out of six field goals. Tyreek Hill had a key touchdown catch which was set up by Jonnu Smith in the third quarter, which ended Hill’s longest touchdown drought of his career, as it was his first touchdown since the season opener. The victory snapped a three-game skid by the Dolphins.
