Following a triumphant start to their 2024-25 season, Georgia Tech celebrated a decisive victory over West Georgia with a score of 85-62 last Wednesday, November 6. However, the excitement was short-lived as they faced North Florida on Sunday night, ultimately suffering a hard-fought defeat with a final score of 93-105.
Star player Baye Ndongo delivered a standout performance, achieving his seventh career double-double by scoring 20 points on an efficient 9-of-18 shooting while also grabbing 10 rebounds against the North Florida squad This showcased his ability to contribute significantly on both ends of the court, marking his 21st game with double-digit points.
Javian McCollum, another key player for the Yellow Jackets, exhibited his scoring prowess with 14 points and facilitated the play with six assists. Over the course of his career, McCollum has consistently been a force in the offensive lineup, reaching double figures in scoring 46 times. Impressively, he has knocked down at least one three-pointer in 49 of his last 59 outings, dating back to the beginning of his sophomore year.
Kowacie Reeves, Jr. also made his mark by contributing 17 points (6-of-12 from the field), marking his 15th double-digit scoring performance as a Yellow Jackets, and the 34th of his entire career.
From the bench, Lance Terry added valuable points, finishing the night with 14—this being his 14th game in double figures as a Yellow Jacket and 47th in his overall career.
On the other side of the court, North Florida marked their third win of the season with this victory over Georgia Tech. The Ospreys had previously secured a close victory against South Carolina with a score of 74-71, followed by a dominating home performance against Charleston Southern University, winning decisively at 90-66.
Exhibiting impressive skills, Josh Harris led the North Florida charge with 22 points and seven rebounds. Jasai Miles made significant contributions as well, adding 18 points and 11 rebounds to his team’s success, while Nate Lliteras shone with a solid performance, scoring 18 points and providing five assists, helping his team claim victory on the road.
