The Jacksonville Jaguars returned home after spending two weeks in London facing the Chicago Bears and the New England Patriots, when they faced the Green Bay Packers at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville, FL on Sunday afternoon. The Packers are winners of three straight after former Jaguars kicker Brandon McManus kicked a game-winning field goal in his first week in a Packers uniform against the Houston Texans last Sunday.
Packers QB Jordan Love injured his groin in the opening drive, and officially exited the game in the third quarter, and Mailk Willis took over at quarterback.
The Packers scored the first 10 points of the game after Josh Jacobs scored on a three-yard run, and McManus kicked a 31-yarder in the second quarter. Then Trevor Lawrence scored a six-yard touchdown run, and then the teams traded field goals in the final minute of the first half, and the Packers had a 13-10 lead entering halftime.
Jacobs had another rushing touchdown, this time of 39 yards in the third quarter, and Brian Thomas Jr. had a touchdown reception from Lawrence, and the Packers led 20-17 at the end of the third.
The Packers got a 10 point lead when Willis had a three-yard touchdown pass to Tucker Kroft, but the Jags quickly erased it with a 47-yarder from Cam Little, and a Lawrence touchdown pass to Evan Engram, which left it tied at 27.
McManus showed why he was added to the Packers roster, as he came up clutch again and kicked the game winning field goal in the final seconds to win the fourth straight game for the Packers 30-27.
The Jaguars were also banged up from this game, including all three starting receivers, Christian Kirk, Thomas Jr., and Gabe Davis, along with Ronald Darby, Brandon Scherrif, and Ezra Cleveland.
The Jags will travel to the City of Brotherly Love as they will face the Philadelphia Eagles at 4:05 on CBS, while the Packers will play their division rival the Detroit Lions next Sunday at 4:25 on FOX.
