The NFL Week 6 Players of the Week

By Joel Perez –

Week six did not fail to live up to the standards we all know the NFL meets every week, and during week six we got to see our best athletes compete for player of the week.

Derrick Henry, running back for the Baltimore Ravens is a player who plays with passion. Always leaving it all on the field, night in and night out, year by year, he shows why he is one of the best at his position. Breaking and setting records, whether they are league wide, or personal accomplishments, he is always setting the bar up higher for himself.

Henry, in week six recorded 132 rushing yards, with 2 touchdowns to lead Baltimore to a week six win over the Washington Commanders with the final score being 30-23, with the Ravens now having a modest 4-2 record.

After this game this is Henry’s 20th time recording over 100 rushing yards paired with 2 touchdowns, now putting him in a very exclusive club with Hall of Famers such as Jim Brown (25 games) LaDainian Tomlinson (25) and Emmit Smith (21). This truly displays who Henry is as a player, not just your ordinary athlete.

This is now Henry’s ninth career player of the week, tying Adrian Peterson for the 4th most all time by a running back.

Sean Tucker, running back for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is a true underdog story. Very misunderstood as a player, he was undrafted and barely touched the field in the 23-24’ season. Last season, only having 11 games played with only 15 carries paired with 23 yards for the season.

Tucker captures his first player of the week recording 136 rushing yards with 14 carries and one touchdown topping off a win over the New Orleans Saints with the final score being 51-27 and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers advancing to a modest 4-2 record.

After week 6, Tucker is now the second Buccaneer running back to win this award in the past 10 seasons, joining Leonard Fournette who won in back in week 12 of the 20-21’ season.

Week 6 was an amazing week for the NFL. Showing us why superstars remain to prove why they are superstars, and underdogs showing us anything is possible. The NFL is a jack of all trades, always reminding the world and providing us as fans with the best of the best.
