Thursday night at Joan C. Edwards Stadium in Huntington, West Virginia, it was an electrifying showdown as Marshall University dominated Georgia State with a stunning 35-20 victory!
A.J. Turner stole the show with an incredible display, racking up a whopping 207 all-purpose yards and scoring an unbelievable four touchdowns. Quarterback Braylon Braxton also shined, completing 11 out of 20 passes for 132 yards, including a sensational touchdown pass.
Defensively, Marshall was on fire too, with Mike Green delivering a jaw-dropping performance, tying his career-high with a whopping 11 tackles. Roberts was a force to be reckoned with, notching up 9 tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss, two pass breakups, and even securing the first sack of his career.
Georgia State’s Zach Gibson led a fierce passing attack with 192 yards through the air, tossing two incredible touchdowns without throwing a single interception. Damaine Wilson also stood out for the Georgia State defense, recording five tackles and a phenomenal interception, while Jyron Gilmore led the Panthers defensively with an impressive eight tackles.
