On Thursday night, the Boston College Eagles faced their second consecutive loss, falling 21-42 to Virginia Tech at Lane Stadium in Blacksburg, Virginia. This defeat marked the Eagles’ second loss on the road in Virginia this season, following their 14-24 loss to the University of Virginia at Scott Stadium in Charlottesville on October 5th. With a current record of 4-3, the Eagles have just five regular season games remaining. Despite the setbacks, Head Coach Bill O’Brien remains optimistic, stating, “The sun will come up tomorrow, but it will come up slowly.”

Quarterback Thomas Castellanos delivered a solid performance, throwing for 205 yards and two touchdowns on 17-for-26 passing. Running back Treshaun Ward added to the team’s tally, catching his third touchdown pass of the season, marking his fifth overall touchdown as an Eagle and his 25th career touchdown. Tight end Jeremiah Franklin also made an impact, securing his second career touchdown reception.

Defensively, Cameron Martinez showcased his skills with a fumble recovery, interception, and sack, achieving all three milestones in his career.

Looking ahead, the Eagles will return home to prepare for their upcoming game against Louisville on Friday, October 25th, at 7:30 PM.
