Last Saturday at Armstrong Field in Hampton, Virginia, the University of Rhode Island Rams faced off against the Hampton Pirates in an exhilarating game that went into double overtime. The Rams emerged victorious with a hard-fought 46-44 win. Devin Farrell’s two-yard rushing touchdown played a pivotal role in securing the Rams’ victory.
Devin Farrell, who came off the bench, delivered an impressive performance, completing 14 of 25 passes for 247 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. He also showcased his running abilities, adding 30 yards and one touchdown on the ground.
In addition to Farrell’s standout performance, running back Deon Silas recorded his first two rushing touchdowns for Rhode Island, amassing 60 yards on nine carries. Meanwhile, running back Malik Grant made a significant impact, rushing for 180 yards and scoring a touchdown on 20 carries.
The receiving corps also made their mark, with Marquis Buchanan leading the team with five catches for 75 yards and a touchdown, and Greg Gaines III contributing with four catches for 63 yards and a touchdown.
