In the second game of the WNBA Semifinals, the Connecticut Sun faced off against the Minnesota Lynx at the Target Center in Minneapolis Tuesday night. Despite their victory in game one, the Sun fell short in game two, losing 77-70.
Alyssa Thomas delivered an outstanding performance, achieving her fourth double-double of the 2024 postseason with 18 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists, and two steals.
DeWanna Bonner also made significant contributions, scoring 17 points, grabbing six rebounds, dishing out three assists, and recording a postseason career-high five steals. Bonner surpassed Tamika Catchings to claim the third spot in all-time scoring in WNBA postseason history, now totaling 1,143 points in her playoff career.
Coach Stephanie White acknowledged Minnesota’s aggressive play, particularly on the defensive end, and highlighted the need for offensive adjustments to create better scoring opportunities. She emphasized the team’s resilience and the need to regroup for their upcoming game.
The Sun will now return home to prepare for Game Three against the Lynx at Mohegan Sun Arena on Friday.
