By Zachary McMahon-

The Jacksonville Jaguars traveled to the Lone Star State to face AFC South rival Houston Texans on Sunday afternoon, as they’re looking for their first win of the season after entering the match 0-3 after being shellacked by the Buffalo Bills on Monday night. The Texans are also coming off a crushing 34-7 loss in the hands of the Minnesota Vikings.

Trevor Lawrence started off with a passing touchdown to Brian Thomas Jr. with a two-yard receptions, however Stefon Diggs had a six-yard touchdown run that tied the game at seven.

Cam Little helped the Jags take back the lead with a 41-yard field goal, C.J. Stroud tossed his first passing touchdown to Nico Collins in the second quarter.

After a pair of field goals by both sides, the Jags were trailing 17-13. Christian Kirk had a eight-yard touchdown reception from Lawrence in the third quarter, as the Jags led 20-17 until the final seconds of the game when Stroud passed to Dare Ogunbowale with 18 seconds left. That was Ogunbowale’s first touchdown since 2022, as he was thrust into the starting role due to injuries to Joe Mixon and Dameon Pierce.

After the Jags took the ball for their final drive, they had multiple laterals to try to score, but to no avail, as they lost 24-20 to the Texans.

Collins had a career-high of 12 receptions and 151 yards, as he has 489 yards in the first four games this season, as he’s the first Texan receiver to have 450+ yards in the first four games in the season.

Lawrence had 18-for-33 with 169 yards with two touchdowns as he goes nine straight starts without a loss. Stroud had 345 passing yards with two touchdowns for the Texans.

Jags defensive end Josh Hines-Allen left the game in the fourth quarter to be evaluated for a concussion.

The Jags will go up against the Colts in Jacksonville at 1 pm on CBS while the Texans will face the Bills at home at 1 pm on CBS.
