The Philadelphia Eagles traveled down south to New Orleans to face the Saints at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans in Week 3 of the 2024 season on Sunday afternoon. The Eagles were 1-1 after losing to the Atlanta Falcons on Monday night, and the Saints came into the game being 2-0 after winning the first two games of the season.

This was a defensive game until the fourth quarter as the Saints had the only three points in the game which came from a 34-yard field goal from Blake Grupe in the first quarter.

Saquon Barkley had two touchdowns in the fourth quarter of 65 and 4 yards, and then scored on a two-point conversion. The only touchdown the Saints allowed was a pass from Derek Carr to Chris Olave with 2:03 left and then a failed two-point conversion.

Eagles safety Reed Blankenship intercepted Carr to seal the 15-12 victory over the Saints, as they stop an offense who had scored an NFL-high 91 points in the first two weeks of the season.

The Eagles lost Devonta Smith in the fourth after a huge hit by Saints defensive tackle Khristian Boyd that knocked Smith’s helmet off, he was diagnosed with a concussion after the hit. Eagles RT Lane Johnson had left the game with a concussion in the first half while receiver Britain Covey left with a shoulder injury.

The Eagles will face their third straight NFC South in a third straight game when they visit Tampa Bay on the road on Sunday, and the Saints will face Atlanta next week.
