The Carolina Panthers were looking to start fresh in their game against the Las Vegas Raiders at Allegiant Stadium on Sunday. They benched former #1 overall pick in quarterback Bryce Young in favor of veteran Andy Dalton in hopes to rejuvenate the offense following a 26-3 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 3.
Dalton got the Panthers going with a six-yard touchdown to running back Chubba Hubbard to give the Panthers a 7-0 lead at the 10 minute mark of the first quarter. Las Vegas tied it with 24 seconds left in the first as Alexander Mattison scored from two yards out, and the game was tied at 7 after the first 15 minutes.
Carolina blew the game open in the second and third quarters, scoring the game’s next 20 points and leading 27-7 headed into the fourth quarter. A one-yard touchdown made the score 33-7. Las Vegas would outscore the Panthers 15-3 in the fourth, but it was Carolina who came away with the 36-22 win.
They will now head back home to host the Cincinnati Bengals next Sunday. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET
