Falcons Fly By Eagle to Win in the Final Minute 22-21

The Atlanta Falcons battled the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football and this contest went down to the wire. Kirk Cousins, who seemed like a 180 million dollar fiasco in week 1, seemed to move the ball effortlessly in the final drive. Down 21-15 Cousins worked the Philly secondary and threw a 7 yard touchdown pass to 3rd year receiver Drake London to tie the game. Atlanta kicker Younghoe Koo made a long 48 yard extra point, after a London unsportsmanlike penalty to take the lead.

Being back in winning form is something that may have Cousins repeating, “you like that,” again. Totaling 241 yards and two TDs Cousins outshined his season opening performance. Positively thrilled was Falcons owner Art Blank along with head coach Raheem Morris, “those are things you want to have happen when you have a chance to go out there and get wins.”

The final drive went so smoothly due to the production of ATL running backs Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier, who combined for 150 yards on 23 carries. Some may attribute Atlanta’s Win to Philly’s miscues, a Saquon Barkley dropped pass that would have allow the Eagles to run the clock out or points left on the field as Philly unsuccessfully went for it on 4th and 4 in the redzone on their 1st possession.

That field goal could have spelled victory for the Eagles. Although still scoring two touchdowns, one throwing and one running, Jalen HurtsBoth squads now 1-1 Philadelphia will travel to New Orleans while Atlanta will face the 2-0 Kansas City Chiefs in Arrowhead stadium.
