Carolina Panthers Fall to 0-2 in 26-3 Loss to Los Angeles Chargers

The Carolina Panthers hosted the Los Angeles Chargers at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, NC on Sunday afternoon. They dropped their season-opening game in New Orleans, home of Super Bowl LIX, against the Saints, 47-10.

The lone score of the first quarter came by way of the Chargers as Justin Herbert threw a 29-yard touchdown to Quentin Johnston. The extra point was no good, and the Chargers led 6-0 at the end of one.

Herbert and Johnston would connect for the second time with 4:16 left in the half, this time on a five-yard pass, and LA increased their lead to 13-0. A 43-yard touchdown run by JK Dobbins would make it a 20-0 lead at halftime.

The teams would exchange field goals in the second half, but it wasn’t enough as the Panthers fall to 0-2 with a 26-3 loss in their home opener.

Carolina will look to avoid an 0-3 start next when they head back on the road to take on the Las Vegas Raiders. Kickoff from Allegiant Stadium is scheduled for 4:05 p.m. ET.
