The Yankees continued their six-game road trip Friday night with the first game of a three-game set against Detroit, and grabbed a 3-0 shutout.
The Yankees grabbed their first run with Gleyber Torres in the top of the first. Their run of the night came at the top of the fifth with Oswald Peraza hitting his first long ball extending the Yankees lead to 2-0. Top of the eighth, Aaron Judge hit his 44th long ball of the season, extending the Yankees lead to 3-0.
Gerrit Cole made his tenth start of the season at Detroit going six innings, throwing 95 and 61 were strikes. He allowed four hits, walked two and struck out eight.
