Eagles Hold On to Win After Late Rushing Touchdown against Patriots, 14-13

The Philadelphia Eagles traveled to New England to face the New England Patriots in Preseason Week 2 at Gillette Stadium on Thursday night.

The Eagles won after a game-winning field goal from Jake Elliott in the final seconds in the first week of the preseason against the Baltimore Ravens.

The Eagles were allowed just six points for most of the game, both of which were from the leg of Eliott, who made both of his field goals in the game.

Kenny Pickett started the game and played the first half going 11-for-13 with 67 passing yards while being sacked four times from the Patriots defense.

Tanner McKee played most of the second half and went 15-19 with 140 passing yards. Kendall Milton, who was an undrafted free agent signing from Georgia, scored a running touchdown with less than five minutes left in the game, and then McKee passed to 2024 fifth-round pick Ainias Smith for the two-point conversion to take a 14-13 lead.

Will Grier, who spent most of the 2023 season on the Patriots practice squad, played one drive in the third quarter as he went 3-for-5 for 35 passing yards.

The Eagles defense did not let the Patriots score another point, and a bad snap by Patriots center Liam Fornadel ended any momentum the Patriots had to win against the Eagles, as the Eagles held on to win, 14-13.

The Eagles will play their only home game of the preseason against the Minnesota Vikings for the final game of the preseason as they look to go undefeated next Saturday at 1 pm.
