Buccaneers Win Preseason Opener in Last-Minute Touchdown Run over the Bengals, 17-13

The Jacksonville Jaguars hosted the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday night in the first preseason game in 2024 at TIAA Bank Stadium in Jacksonville.

Trevor Lawrence played the first two drives of the game and threw to his former college teammate Travis Etienne Jr. for a nine-yard touchdown.

After Carson Steele scored a touchdown on a goal line run for the Chiefs, the Jaguars would score the next 13 points including a pass from CJ Beathard to Devin Duvernay for 35 yards and Super Bowl hero Mecole Hardman being tackled for a safety.

Sixth-round rookie Cam Little went 3-for-4 in field goals for his preseason debut for the Jags, and Mac Jones went 9-for-11 for 98 yards in his Jags preseason debut after the former first-rounder was traded from the New England Patriots in the offseason.

The Jaguars won 26-13 against the Chiefs and will look to get that momentum in against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next Saturday as they host another preseason game at 7:30 pm start time.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs will host the Detroit Lions in Kansas City next Saturday at 4 pm.
