In a magnificent showdown in Paris, Team USA showcased their unyielding spirit as they clinched a remarkable 98-87 victory over France, securing their fifth consecutive gold medal.

The standout performer of the game was none other than the sensational Steph Curry, who spearheaded the American charge with a stellar display, contributing 24 crucial points, a pivotal defensive rebound, five assists, and two steals.

Curry’s dazzling flurry of 3-pointers in the closing moments of the fourth quarter firmly cemented the team’s glorious triumph.

This resounding victory adds another illustrious accolade to Curry’s remarkable career, which already boasts four NBA championships, two MVP titles (including a historic unanimous selection), two scoring titles, a decade of All-Star game appearances, ten All-NBA selections, and the prestigious honor of being the NBA’s all-time 3-point leader. With this triumph, Curry can rightfully add Olympic gold medalist to his exceptional list of achievements.

Kevin Durant and Devin Booker each made significant contributions with 15 points for the U.S., while LeBron James delivered a stellar performance with 14 points, 10 assists, and six rebounds. Anthony Davis shone brightly, leading both teams with 10 rebounds and four blocks.

Durant claimed a historic feat by becoming the first U.S. men’s basketball player to clinch four Olympic gold medals, while James marked his third gold medal and his first since his last appearance for Team USA at the 2012 London Olympics. For Curry, this triumph marked his first gold medal at his debut Olympic Games.

The U.S. dominance was evident as they connected on 18-of-36 pointers, outscoring France with a commanding 54-27 lead from beyond the arc, while also showcasing their prowess with a 31-9 advantage in fastbreak points.

With this emphatic triumph, Team USA enhanced their remarkable Olympic record to 144-5 overall, including an impressive 36-1 record since 2004.
