Miami Dolphins Beat Atlanta Falcons 20-13 In 21st Preseason Meeting

It was a thrilling preseason matchup at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida as the Miami Dolphins went head-to-head with the Atlanta Falcons for the 21st time in the preseason on Friday night, and the Dolphins secured a 20-13 victory, marking their 12th preseason win against the Falcons and bringing their preseason record to 12-9 all-time against Atlanta. This win also solidified Miami’s position with the third-most preseason victories against any franchise, with 18 wins against Tampa Bay and 15 wins against New Orleans.

The game started with Jason Sanders making an impressive career-long 58-yard field goal, putting the Dolphins in the lead. 

In the second quarter, Skylar Thompson connected with Jeff Wilson for a touchdown, marking Thompson’s ninth preseason touchdown pass of his career.

Also, in the second quarter, Rookie RB Jaylen Wright, the 4th-round pick (120th overall) by Miami in the 2024 NFL Draft, during his NFL debut scored his first NFL touchdown on a 6-yard run. 

In the third quarter, Jason Sanders scored again with a 46-yard field goal. 

Tanner Conner emerged as a standout player of the night, leading the Dolphins in receiving with 70 yards, including an impressive 43-yard reception from Thompson in the second quarter. 

On the defensive side of the ball, Patrick McMorris made his preseason debut and led the team with eight total tackles.
