The Philadelphia Eagles went to Baltimore to face the Ravens for their first preseason game on Friday evening. The Eagles did not play any of their starters including quarterback Jalen Hurts.
Kenny Pickett started against his former rival as a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers, as he went 14/22 with 89 passing yards and a touchdown to Will Shipley in the first quarter. Pickett played until the middle of the third, which is when Tanner McKeee took over.
Lew Nichols ran it in on the goal line for the Eagles in the third quarter as they had a 13-6 lead. The game was tied after the Ravens scored, and Jake Elliott hit the upright on a 50-yard attempt with 16 seconds remaining.
The Eagles were breathing new life after a strip sack on Ravens undrafted rookie QB Emory Jones, who just came in for his preseason debut, as they were already in opponent’s territory. After McKee placed the ball on a sneak, Elliott connected for the Eagles win 16-13.
The Eagles will be playing the Patriots on Week 2 of the preseason next Thursday at 7 pm on NFL+ and NFL Network (outside the NE/PHI markets).
