The Worcester Red Sox hosted the Buffalo Bisons in the series finale at Polar Park in Worcester, MA on Sunday afternoon. 2010 MLB MVP Joey Votto was in town with Bisons on his first rehab assigned with the Toronto Blue Jays affiliate.
Votto homered in this game, a two-run shot, his first with Buffalo, as they defeated the WooSox in a rain-shortened game by a final score of 10-1. Buffalo scored four runs in the first inning and four more in the third. Starting pitcher Quinn Priester, who was on his first rehab assigment for Worcester, lasted just 2.1 innings, giving up those eight runs.
With the loss, the WooSox have dropped three of their last four. They will start a new series at home against the Rochester Red Wings starting on Tuesday. First pitch is scheduled for 6:45 p.m. ET
