Grizzlies Squeeze Past Magic in Summer League Action, 104-98

The Orlando Magic played the Memphis Grizzlies on Thursday night at the NBA 2K25 Summer League at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, NV. Both teams were 2-0 coming into this matchup.

After the Grizzlies lead by 17 points when they were up 57-40 at halftime, the Magic attempted a comeback as they were only down by one point at the end of the third quarter and then when Jett Howard made a three-pointer with 8:36 left in the game, it was tied at 78, but after it was tied at 80 with a Jared Rhoden tip layup, the Grizzlies did a 13-0 run. 

The Magic had a chance to tie it with a 101-98 with a three-pointer by Xavier Moon with 24 seconds left. The Magic could not make another shot as the Grizzlies won 104-98. 

2023 Grizzlies second round pick GG Jackson had a double-double with 27 points and 13 rebounds, while Scotty Pippen Jr. had 25 points for the Grizzlies. 

The Magic had four players in double-figures with Howard with 21 points, Jay Huff had 18, Tristan Da Silva with 17, and Rhoden with 12. Moon had eight assists, and Da Silva and Jarrett Culver both led the team in rebounds with six. 

Both teams will be playing tomorrow as the Grizzlies will be playing the New Orleans Pelicans at 6 pm and following that the Magic will be playing the Brooklyn Nets at 8 pm at the Pavillion on NBA TV and ESPN+.
