The Navy Midshipmen men’s basketball team hosted Loyola (MD) in the first round of the Patriot League championship tournament on Tuesday night. Navy was riding a four-game win streak coming into this game.
The Midshipmen got off to a 7-0 start, and while Loyola did make it a three-point game in the final minutes of the half, Navy pulled away and took a seven-point lead at halftime.
The second half was more of the same for Navy as they pulled away en route to a 64-48 win. Austin Begini led the way, scoring 24 points, including going a perfect 10 for 10 from the free-throw line.
