Washington suited up against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night after two days off. This matchup was game three of a four game homestand, the Wizards lost their previous two games of the home tenure along with two other games. Currently on a four game losing streak Washington looked to turn it around.
The Timberwolves who are one of the top teams in the West improved to 31-13 with the 118-107 win. Anthony Edwards led the way with 38 points. Karl Anthony-Towns added 27 points of his own. The duo of Edwards and Towns combined for 65 points scoring 43 of them in the second half. Rudy Gobert contributed to the Timberwolves 19 points and 16 rebounds. Gobert also added four blocks to his performance.
For the Wizards Deni Avdija led Washington with 24 points. Avdija also tallied six rebounds and six assists. Washington also saw double-doubles from Kyle Kuzma and Marvin Bagley III, Kuzma scored 17 points while grabbing 14 rebounds. Bagley also scored 17 points while grabbing a team high 15 rebounds.
Washington will play their last game of the four game homestand and will play another game tomorrow making it back to back. The Washington Wizards will face the Utah Jazz at 7:00PM EST.
