UMass v. Eastern Michigan

The Minutemen picked up their third straight loss Saturday, losing 17-19 to Eastern Michigan in Ypsilanti, Michigan. The Minutemen made a field goal in the second quarter and had touchdowns in the third and fourth quarters. 

Navy v. Memphis

After a 24-0 win last week against Wagner, Thursday night, Navy picked up a 24-28 loss against Memphis at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium in Memphis, Tennessee. Navy outgained Memphis 432 yards to 408 yards, with Navy gaining 299 yards on the ground and 133 yards through the air. Lavatai completed 10 of his 19 pass attempts for 133 yards and a touchdown. Tecza finished with a career-high 163 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries.

Georgia Southern v. Wisconsin

After winning last week 49-35 against UAB, this week at Camp Randall in Madison, Wisconsin, Georgia Southern picked up a 14-35 loss against Wisconsin. Derwin Burgess Jr. led the offense with eight catches for 124 yards. It marked his fourth-career 100-yard receiving game.

UConn v. Florida International

In East Hartford, Connecticut at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field, UConn picked up their third straight loss to start the season, losing 17-24 to FIU. 

Howard v. Hampton

After a 65-19 win last weekend against Morehouse, this week the Bisons picked up their second loss of the season, losing 34-35 to Hampton at Audi Field in the Nation’s Capital City. This matchup was a backyard brawl with Ian Wheeler leading the ground attack for the Bison with 66 yards on 11 carries. Bisons QB Quinton Williams finished Saturday 19-of-38 for 273 yards and two TDs. “It all comes down to missed opportunities,” Williams said postgame. “We have to learn from this and get ready for the rest of the season.”

Merrimack v. Lehigh

After losing their first two matchups of the season, Merrimack this weekend picked up their first win, defeating Virginia University of Lynchburg 44-0 at Duane Stadium in North Andover, Massachusetts. Brendon Wyatt had two touchdowns, and finished Saturday recording a career-high 112 rushing yards. Tyvon Edmonds Jr. recorded 213 yards and a touchdown in the Warriors win. On the other side of the ball, DJ Frazier and Darell Dorrah led the Warriors with five tackles each. 

Boston College v. Florida State

Just like the backyard brawl we saw between Howard and Hampton, we saw another backyard brawl at Alumni Stadium in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. The Eagles who defeated the Holy Cross Crusaders just a week ago, this week picked up their second loss of the season, losing 29-31 against Florida State. Thomas 64 yards and a touchdown continues to shine with the Eagles completing 20-of-33 passes for 305 yards and a touchdown, while rushing 16 times for 95 yards and a score. Lewis Bond recorded 80 yards and a touchdown, and Kye Robichaux recorded 64 yards and a touchdown. Castellanos connected with eight different receivers. 

Georgia State v. Charlotte

After picking up ther first two wins of the season against two New England teams (URI and UConn), this week the Panthers played their first matchup against a Southern team and picked up their third straight win to start the season, defeating Charlotte 41-25. Marcus Carroll rushed for 67 yards and recorded his seventh touchdown of the season. Darren Grainger completed 81.8 percent of his passes on the day, going 27-for-33 while averaging 14.1 yards per attempt. Defensively, TyGee Leach led the Panthers with 12 tackles.

Georgia Tech v. Ole Miss

Georgia Tech, Saturday picked up their second loss of the season, losing 48-23 to Ole Miss. The Yellow Jackets fell to 2-4 all-time against Ole Miss with its fourth-straight loss to the Rebels, dating back to 1971. Haynes King completed 28 passes on 42 attempts for 307 yards and two touchdowns. D’Quan Douse recorded a career high eight tackles while LaMiles Brooks matched a career high with nine tackles.

New Hampshire v. Dartmouth

The Wildcats picked up their second win to start the season, defeating Dartmouth 24-7 in the Granite Bowl. Dylan Laube rushed for 180 yards and scored two touchdowns. Merrimack, N.H. native Joe Eichman recorded eight tackles while Everett, Massachusetts native, Isaac Seide recovered a muffed kickoff at the start of the third quarter. 

Rhode Island v. Maine

Friday night the Rams picked up their second victory of the season, defeating Maine 34-17 at Morse Field at Alfond Stadium in Orono, Maine. Friday night’s win was the first win at Maine since 1998 for the Rams. Kasim Hill was 18-of-32 for 234 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. Kahtero Summers caught six passes for 130 yards and two touchdowns. Ja’Den McKenzie recorded 121 yards and a touchdown.

Holy Cross v. Yale

After a 28-31 loss last week in a matchup with Boston College, this week the Crusaders found their way back to their winning ways, defeating Yale 49-24 at the Yale Bowl in New Haven, Connecticut. Mathew Sluka recorded four touchdowns in the air and two on the ground. Jalen Coker recorded three receiving touchdowns. Coker recorded 124 yards on nine receptions. Jordan Fuller recorded a rushing touchdown, and Jacob Petersen recorded a receiving touchdown. Sluka recorded two rushing touchdowns.

Maryland v. Virginia

Maryland, Friday night, rolled over Virginia with a 42-14 win. It was the third consecutive win for Maryland to start the season. Roman Hemby scored two touchdowns on a pair of 3-yard rushing scores. Jeshaun Jones’ 64-yard touchdown was the 12th touchdown of his career, moving him into a tie for ninth in career receiving touchdowns with All-American Gary Collins (1959-61). Postgame, when asked about his 64-yard touchdown, Jones said, “It was great. I haven’t scored a touchdown like that in years. Just having the opportunity was amazing. I’m blessed, I’m thankful, I’m glad we threw that ball and glad we called that play.”

Central Connecticut v. Kent State

The Blue Devils on Saturday picked up their second straight loss, losing 38-10 in a matchup with Kent State. 

Harvard v. St Thomas

In their home opener on Saturday, Harvard defeated the University of St. Thomas 45-13. Charles Deprima finished Saturday with 113 on 10 carries. Ty Bartrum recorded an interception return in Saturday’s win. Charles DePrima, Shane McLaughlin, Isaiah Abbey, and Jaden Craig each recorded a rushing touchdown for Harvard while Tyler Neville recorded a receiving touchdown for Harvard.

Clark Atlanta v. Savannah State University

Tge Panthers on picked up their third straight loss, losing 21-28 to Savannah State at Theodore Wright Stadium in Savannah, Georgia. Andrew Banks went 10-for-16 with 134 yards and two touchdowns. 

Morehouse v. Albany State University

Morehouse on Saturday recorded their third straight loss to start the season, losing 14-24 in a matchup with Albany State at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. 

Williams College v. Colby College

At Farley-Lamb Field in Williamstown, Massachusetts on Saturday Williams College in a matchup with Colby College, recorded a 25-22 win. The Ephs recorded 362 yards in total offense with 210 yards coming through the air. Owen McHugh was 12 of 16 on his aerials for 168 yards and 2 TDs.

Tufts University v. Trinity College

In Hartford, Connecticut on Saturday at Jessee/Miller Field, Trinity picked up a 44-19 win against Tufts University. For Trinity, Spencer Fetter recorded 313 yards, completing 20 of 38 passes, with two touchdowns. Sean Clapp recorded 172 yards on nine receptions and Colin McCabe recorded three touchdowns on 12 carries while Tyler DiNapoli recorded 66 yards on 14 carries with a touchdown. Michael Berluti, for Tufts University finished Saturday 23-of-53 for three touchdowns and 344 yards. 

Coast Guard v. Nichols

After losing week one 28-44, in a matchup against UNE, Coast Guard found themselves rolling over Anna Maria with no mercy in week two, grabbing a 93-24 win, and this week Coast Guard found their way once again into the winning column, defeating Nichols 49-42. Armentrout threw for 331 yards, had two passing TDs and two rushing. Hensley rushed for 164 and had two touchdowns, while Desta had 103 receiving yards and one touchdown.
