The Atlanta Falcons were on the road for the first time this season as they took on the Detroit Lions from Ford Field in Detroit, MI. They were looking to advance to 3-0 on the season.
The first quarter saw just a field goal from the Lions, giving them a 3-0 lead after one. After the Falcons tied the game with a 48-yard field goal, Lions quarterback Jared Goff found Sam LaPorta for a 45-yard touchdown, the first of the game.
With the score 13-3 in the fourth, Goff rushed for a three-yard touchdown to make it a 20-3 Lions lead with 9:50 remaining. Atlanta would add another field goal, but were unable to do much in the game, falling by a final score of 20-6.
The Falcons will travel to London for the first NFL International game of the season as they take on the Jacksonville Jaguars next Sunday. Kickoff is set for 9:30 a.m. ET (2:30 p.m. in London).
