The Atlanta Falcons will host the Green Bay Packers at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta, GA on Sunday afternoon in 2023 NFL Week 2 action. Both teams are coming off Week 1 wins over divisional rivals.
Atlanta defeated the Carolina Panthers 24-10 led by running back Tyler Allegier’s two rushing touchdowns. Quarterback Desmond Ridder and rookie running back Bijan Robinson, who the Falcons drafted seventh overall in the 2023 NFL Draft, also connected on a 11-yard touchdown on the first play of the second quarter.
The Packers, in their first game under new quarterback Jordan Love, outlasted the Chicago Bears in a 38-20 victory on the road. Love threw for 245 yards and three touchdowns in the Week 1 win.
As for this matchup, Atlanta will need to get more into the passing game as Kyle Pitts, their top receiver, only had two catches for 33 yards. Second year receiver Drake London didn’t have any catches.
The offensive line will also need to protect Ridder better as he was sacked four times in Week 1. This could also be a chance for the defense to show something about not only themselves, but also Love after intercepting two Bryce Young passes last week.
The game between the Falcons and Packers are scheduled to kick off their Week 2 game at 1 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcasted on FOX.
