At Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas, Thursday night, the Atlanta Hawks picked up their first win, beating the Spurs 137-135, after losing two straight.
Trae Young Thursday night played his best game this season so far, finishing with 45 points on the board, four defensive rebounds, 14 helpers, and two thefts.
20 of Young’s 45 points came in the third quarter to register his 10th career period scoring 20-or-more, and with his 12th career 40+ points and 10+ assists Young has tied Allen Iverson and LeBron James for the eighth-most such games in NBA history.
Dejounte Murray finished Thursday night with 24 points on the board, three defensive rebounds, two helpers, and five thefts to now owns 86 career 3+ steal outings.
Bogdan Bogdanovic added 14 points to the Hawks win. He also registered two defensive rebounds, three helpers, and two thefts. Bogdanovic has connected on at least one triple in 29 straight games and two-or-more in 13 straight outings.
Next up for the Hawks is a trip to Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, WI, for a meeting with the Bucks. Saturday’s game will be the second of three contests between Milwaukee and Atlanta this season. Atlanta took the first game of the regular season series 127-110 back on October 29 in Milwaukee. Trae Young, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Dejounte Murray, De’Andre Hunter, Jalen Johnson, Onyeka Okongwu, Saddiq Bey and Clint Capela all finished the road victory netting 10-or-more points. All eight players hit double-figures within the first three quarters.
