Atlanta Hawks Pick Up 5th Loss Of The Season Against Knicks, 116-114

At State Farm Arena Tuesday night, the Atlanta Hawks were topped by the Knicks, losing their fifth of eleven games played, 116-114.

Bogdan Bogdanovic led the way for the Hawks with 28 points on the board. Bogdanovic had one offensive rebound, two defensive rebounds, three assists, two steals, and one block. 

Bogdanovic has buried at least one three-pointer in 22 straight games, the sixth-longest such streak in his career, and has now connected on 3+ triples in five straight games, tied for the fourth-longest such streak of his career.

Jalen Johnson, in Wednesday night’s loss, had 18 points on the board in the 31 minutes he played with five defensive rebounds and two blocks. Johnson, with his fourth made three-pointer tonight, set a new career-high for made triples in a single game. His previous high was two (11x).

Saddiq Bey finished the night with 16 points in the 28 minutes he played with one offensive rebound, one defensive rebound, two assists, and two steals. 

Trae Young recorded 15 points in Wednesday night’s loss with one defensive rebound, 17 assists, and two steals. Young extended his streak of handing out five-or-more assists to 117 straight games, the sixth-longest such streak in NBA history. Young also set a new career-long steal streak with his first theft in tonight’s game and has now recorded at least one steal in 11 consecutive regular season contests.

The Hawks will be back on the court at State Farm Arena Friday night for their first of three meetings with Philadelphia this season.

The Hawks and 76ers met in the preseason on October 20, with Philadelphia taking a 120-106 win. Last season, the 76ers took the season series 3-1 with Atlanta notching a win in the first matchup on Novena 10, 104-95. Clint Capela recorded 18 points and 20 rebounds on 7-10 shooting, marking his second straight game with 15+ points and 19+ rebounds. Trae Young passed Doc Rivers (7,358) to move to 16th on the Hawks all-time scoring list.
