At the Burr Gymnasium in Washington, DC, Tuesday night, defending MEAC champion Howard University hosted Boston University, and after owning two straight losses against Georgia Tech and James Madison on the road, the Bisons topped the Terriers to grab a 64-53 win.
But this was a tightly-contested matchup that was tied six times and had 17 lead changes with 12 of those lead changes coming in just the first half.
It was just a 24-23 game at the half. But after half, Harris scored eight straight points to put the Bisons up, 48-43. Towns in the second half also scored eight straight points, including back-to-back threes.
Bryce Harris scored 15 of his game-high 19 points in the second half while Seth Towns and Jelani Williams made their season debuts and came off the bench to score 17 between them.
Next up for the Bisons is a road trip north to New Jersey for a meeting with Rutgers on Saturday, November 18.
