Clark Atlanta 71 v. Mercer University 64

After losing to Georgia Tech 75-91 last Wednesday in an exhibition game, Clark Atlanta, Monday night recorded their second win, beating Mercer University 71-64 in an exhibition game. On October 30, Clark Atlanta beat Carolina Christian College 93-42 in their first exhibition game. Xavier Griffith led the night for Clark Atlanta with 17 points, while Dez’Mond Perkins recorded 16 points, and Chris Martin finished the night with 14 points. Jalen NeSmith finished the night with eight while Headspeth, Fuller, Williams, and Mason each finished the night with four points. 

Georgia State 87 v. Belmont 89

After beating Morehouse 92-66 in an exhibition game on October 29, Georgia State kicked off their 2023-24 season with an 87-89 loss against Belmont Monday night at the Curb Event Center in Nashville, TN. Leslie Nkereuwem led the Panthers with 14 points, and Jay’Den Turner notched a double-double for the Panthers with 12 points and 11 rebounds. The Georgia State bench made an impact by scoring 40 points. The Georgia State defense forced 13 turnovers.

University of Georgia 71 v. Oregon 82

T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. Monday night, the University of Georgia picked up an L, losing 71-82 against Oregon to kickoff the 2023-24 season. Silas Demary Jr. was the lone first-year player to start in Monday night’s contest, scoring eight points, all in the second half. Senior Jabri Abdur-Rahim had a game-high 18 points. RJ Melendez and Blue Cain also recorded double figures, each with 12 points. Abdur-Rahim had nine free throws and added five rebounds, marking the first game of his career with at least 15 points and five boards. In his first collegiate game, Cain shot five-of-11 from the field, including a pair of three-pointers.
