Wizards Win First Preseason Game 145-82

The Washington Wizards opened up their preseason against the Cairns Taipans , an Australian professional basketball team. The Wizards picked up the win with eight players scoring over 10 points. Kyle Kuzma had a game high 22 points along with four rebounds and two assists. 

Newcomer Jordan Poole made his first appearance in a Wizards uniform versus the Taipans. Poole scored 18 points in his preseason debut.

Eugene Omoruyi, Danilo Galinari, and Daniel Gafford all contributed to the win. Omoruyi had 16 points while Gallinari and Gafford each scored 15 points. Gallinari also had a team high eight rebounds.

Johnny Davis played the most minutes with 22. In 22 minutes Davis finished with 13 points and had 5 rebounds.

Tyus Jones and Corey Kispert both scored over 11 points to help bring the Wizards the win.

For the Taipans Akoldah Gak was their leading scorer with 17 points. Patrick Miller also finished the night with 15 points.

The Wizards will play at home again on Thursday night. Their second preseason game will be against the Charlotte Hornets will tip off at 7:00 PM EST.
