The Baltimore Ravens were on the road for the third time in four weeks as they took on the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Ravens have faced the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals on the road, both giving themselves the chance to sweep all three division opponents on the road. Baltimore ultimately came up short as they fell to 3-2 on the season.
The Ravens in the loss jumped out to an early 10-0 lead to begin the game. Baltimore opened up the scoring with a Justice Hill rushing touchdown at the six minute mark giving the Ravens a 7-0 lead.
Justin Tucker then hit a field goal in the second quarter from 23 yards to extend the lead to 10. Chris Boswell would get the Steelers on the board before halftime with a 43 yard field goal to bring the score to 10-3.
No scoring was done in the third quarter but Pittsburgh scored 14 points in the fourth to complete the comeback.
First at the 11 minute mark of the fourth quarter the Pittsburgh special teams unit blocked a punt and forced a safety giving them five points.
The Steelers then drove down and kicked a field goal on the next drive to bring the game within two points.
Baltimore went three and out, having to punt the ball back to Pittsburgh. The punt return was then fumbled by Gunner Olszewski giving the Ravens another chance to score.
The Ravens in their own Redzone saw Lamar Jackson on third and goal throw an interception to rookie Joey Porter Jr. Porter Jr gave the Steelers the ball back with his first career interception.
Kenny Pickett on the next drive found George Pickens for a 41 yard passing touchdown giving Pittsburgh their first lead of the day.
Down 14-10 after Pittsburgh failed their two point conversion, Lamar Jackson had a chance to take the lead back.
After a 19 yard pass to Zay Flowers to start the drive Jackson was sacked and fumble the ball giving it back to Pittsburgh.
The Steelers ultimately kicked a field goal. Boswell hit his second field goal of the day from 42 yards giving Pittsburgh a 17-10 lead.
Baltimore would turn the ball over on downs as Pittsburgh won 17-10.
The Ravens now trail the Steelers for the division lead as both teams are 3-2 and Pittsburgh earning the tiebreaker with the win.
Ravens coach John Harbaugh said postgame “Great win for them, disappointing loss for us.”
Ravens linebacker Rowland Smith also spoke postgame saying “We didn’t do enough to get the job done.”
Baltimore once again will be on the road even though it’s considered a home as they travel across the pond to play the Tennessee Titans.
