The Atlanta Falcons are headed overseas for the first NFL game of the 2023 season outside of the United States as they take on the Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley Stadium in London, England. The Falcons are coming off their first loss of the season, a 20-6 defeat against the Detroit Lions.
In the loss, rookie running back Bijan Robinson struggled against Detroit’s defense. After a 124-yard performance against the Green Bay Packers in Week 2, he rushed 10 times for just 33 yards against the Lions. That was the first time this season he averaged less than five yards per carry.
Quarterback Desmond Ridder did throw for 201 yards, but he had his lowest passer rating thus far this season at 70.2.
As for Jacksonville, they didn’t have their best performance in Week 3, either. They were blown out by their AFC South rival in the Houston Texans 37-17. Texans quarterback CJ Stroud threw for 280 yards and two touchdowns and the Jaguars also allowed a score on special teams.
There are many question marks for the game between these two teams. Can Robinson have a bounceback game? Can Atlanta’s defense shut down Trevor Lawrence and the Jags’ high-powered offense?
The game between the Falcons and Jaguars at Wembley Stadium is scheduled to kick off at 9:30 a.m. ET on Sunday (2:30 p.m. in London). The game will only be available to watch on ESPN+.
