Georgetown Falls to 2-2 After 30-0 Shutout

The Georgetown Hoyas lost their first game of the season last week versus Stonehill falling to 2-1. Now after being shutout 30-0 by the Columbia Lions the Hoyas are now 2-2.

Georgetown was forced to punt seven times as Caden Bell had three total touchdowns for Columbia. Bell had one passing touchdown while having two rushing touchdowns. Bell threw for 189 yards while rushing for 26 yards.

One of Bell’s rushing touchdowns was the first score of the game giving Columbia a 6-0 lead after a failed two point conversion.

The score stayed 6-0 by the end of the first quarter before Ty’son Edwards ran for a touchdown to extend the lead to 13-0.

Before the end of the half Lions kicker Hugo Merry kicked a 25 yard field goal. After the field goal Colombia led 16-0.

Bell then ran for his second touchdown in the third quarter before throwing his sole passing touchdown in the third quarter as well.

Georgetown will look to get back in the win column against Fordham which will be a home game for the Hoyas. This game will also be their first Patriot League Conference game of the season as they are currently 0-0 in conference play so far this season.

The Georgetown Hoyas take on Fordham Rams on September 30 with kickoff scheduled for 2:00PM EST.
