The Washington Commanders will travel back home after being on the road last week in Denver. Their opponent this week is the Buffalo Bills who come in at 1-1 to start the season.
Washington has a better record than Buffalo with a record of 2-0. This is the first time since 2011 Washington has been 2-0 and they are one of nine teams who are 2-0.
The Commanders are in a position to begin the season 3-0 for the first time since 2005 a season in which the franchise went 10-6 and got to the divisional round.
The last time the Bills traveled to Washington was during week 15 of the 2015 season. Washington has a record of 3-3 at home all time.
Despite having the eighth hardest strength of schedule, the Commanders have outscored their opponents by 16 points which is third highest in the league.
Washington also has some players close to passing milestones and making history. Quarterback Sam Howell is 330 passing yards away from 1,000 yards all-time while defensive tackle Johnathan Allen (34.5) is 1.5 sacks away from passing Dave Butz (35.5) for the most sacks by a defensive tackle in franchise history.
Buffalo doesn’t have any injuries going into this week’s matchup while Washington will be without tight end Logan Thomas who didn’t clear concussion protocol. Wide receiver Curtis Samuel and safety Kam Curl both have the questionable tag.
The Washington Commanders and the Buffalo Bills will kickoff at 1:00PM EST.
