Just after 6:00 p.m., Thursday night the Metropolitan Police Department responded to a residence, in the 1600 block of 22nd Street, Southeast for a person unconscious.
Upon arrival officers located an unconscious and unresponsive adult male suffering from a gunshot wound.
DC Fire and EMS also responded and after all life-saving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead.
The Metropolitan Police Department has identified the victim as Amar Harris, 24, of Southeast, DC.

A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for each homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
