Orioles Earn 4th Stright Win Defeating The Rockies 5-4

The Orioles defeated the Rockies, 5-4 Saturday to clinch the series and are now 24-11 in one-run games.

The Rockies grabbed their first two runs at the top of the third with Michael Toglia and Brenton Doyle. At the top of the eighth the Rockies recorded their third and fourth runs with Ryan McMahon and Elias Diaz scoring. 

The Orioles recorded their first of the game in the bottom of the fifth with Austin Hays scoring. In the bottom of the sixth the Orioles recorded three runs with Gunnar Henderson,  Anthony Santander and Ryan Mountcastle to make it a 2-4 Baltimore game. Bottom of the seventh Jordan Westburg scored to get Baltimore their fifth run.

Saturday’s win was Baltimore’s 40th comeback win, tied for the MLB lead this season (Cincinnati, 40), and their 76 come-from-behind wins since the start of 2022.

Kyle Bradish improved to 9-6 after allowing two runs on six hits and one walk with eight strikeouts in 6.0+ innings. Bradish left with one runner on, who was stranded.

Yennier Cano earned his fifth save of the season after pitching a perfect ninth inning and recorded his eleventh straight scoreless appearances since August 3, surrendering six hits, one walk, and one hit batter with 11 strikeouts.

On Sunday, the Orioles will continue their nine-game homestand wrapping up their three-game set with the Rockies.
