The Connecticut Sun traveled to Washington to take on the Mystics in their fourth and final regular season matchup.
Connecticut won the previous three matchups and made it four after winning 68-64.
The Mystics are currently seventh at 15-18 while Connecticut sits third at 23-10.
Alyssa Thomas led the Sun with 22 points and 10 rebounds which was her league leading 23 double-double and tied the Sun franchise record for most double-doubles in a season.
Natasha Cloud led the Mystics in scoring with 19 points along with 5 assists and 4 rebounds.
Cloud scored 11 of her 19 points in the first quarter as the Mystics led 19-18 after one quarter.
Tiffany Hayes after one quarter had five points as she finished the game with 12 points which was her eighth straight double-figure outing.
The Sun held a 36-31 lead at the half which saw DeWanna Bonner have seven points. Bonner ended the night with 17 points.
The Sun extended their lead from five points to eight points after the third quarter going up 58-50.
Connecticut held on in the fourth despite being outscored 14-10.
Joining Natasha Cloud in double figures for the Mystics was Shakira Austin who scored 13 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in the loss.
The Mystics return to action Saturday against the Las Vegas Aces with tip off scheduled 7:00 PM.
Connecticut will face the New York Liberty on Thursday with tip off scheduled for 7:00 PM.
